a day in ent clinic

ptg td g mater ent clinic. memule tu palpitations x sudah, sb da la sorg2 je malaysia dlm group tu, lps tu kt clinic tu ade consultant yg sgt2 'best', mr o'dwyer. dgr cite fr the people yg da g sn previous weeks, tambah2 la suspens lg.

but it turned out to be great!n the greatestnews of all is that mr o'dwyer wont come for the day! yay!! hehe. me n my partner got to be in the clinic w mr g (bukan nm sebenar). he's an ent spr in the mater, n he's really nice. i got to palpate a px's ln n mouth floor for submandibular abscess. lps tu dpt gk wt laryngoscopy to see a laryngeal tumor (which was dandy!). then mr guan did an aural toilet suctioning to clean the muck, before i got to puff the acid powder in the ear of px w recurrent otitis externa. cool eh? wahah, honestly, i did not know ent can be this intersting..

but the fun was always interrupted by quizzes, of course. kdg2 leh la jawab, tp kdg2 yg lain.. huhu. senyum je la kt die. iskk, camne nk igt sume bnde skali? i did prepare for the clinic w some basic numbers abt ent, but who'd expect questions on hodgkin's n nh lymphoma? n if its either bcc or scc. adeyh la..

at first, mmg rs really impressed kt incik spr ni. he looked really passionate n was really enjoying what he's doing. but at the end of the day, he said, its not to late for us to quit school, now that we're only in 3rd med. n then we (my partner n i) went like, what??? then he said, he himself has gotten sick of the job. n mind this --> he really hated the patients!! n here i thought he was really great w the pxs. he went on abt it, the workload is massive n u'll be like walking corpse.. (i doubt that last bit bcs he looked good. quite sth actually ;p ) huhu. see, here's another evidence that outer looks doesnt necessarily mirror the insides. only Allah knows, right?

okay. the day in the clinic end there. i was beat, but puas hati. i also learned that u have to do surgery to specialise in ent. neway, i still think ent wont be a career option for me. i cant see myself cutting open people's face or looking down people's throat of feeling people's tongue everyday. wahaha.
